الملخص

This research aims to investigate the relationship between structural capital and organizational memory at Idlib
University, located in the Idlib Governorate of northwest Syria. Structural capital, a fundamental component of intellectual
capital, refers to the underlying infrastructure of an institution, encompassing the processes, systems, databases, and
organizational mechanisms that enable human capital to function efficiently and achieve institutional objectives. It also includes
a set of intangible assets that support and enhance the performance of human resources. Structural capital plays a vital role in
enabling academic institutions to confront challenges, strengthen organizational capabilities, improve infrastructure, formulate
sound policies, and advance strategic areas such as leadership, planning, and operational efficiency. This study specifically
examines the influence of structural capital on the development and effectiveness of organizational memory at Idlib University.
A descriptive research approach was employed, which involves observing and describing existing phenomena without researcher
intervention, followed by analytical interpretation to gain deeper insights into their characteristics and underlying dynamics. Data
were collected using a questionnaire administered to a non-random (convenience) sample of 165 faculty members, drawn from
a total population of 292. The findings revealed that structural capital exerts a significant positive effect on enhancing the
organizational memory of Idlib University.
