Copyright Terms
These copyright terms apply to the published scholarly content of the Research Journal of Maaref University of Applied Sciences (RJMU). They do not apply to the design, layout, logos, or other non-article elements of the journal website unless expressly stated otherwise.
1. Copyright ownership
Authors who publish in RJMU retain copyright in their work without transfer of ownership to the journal or publisher.
2. License for published content
All articles published in RJMU are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Under this license, any user may:
- read, download, copy, distribute, print, and share the published work;
- search and link to the full text of articles;
- reuse and reproduce the content for non-commercial purposes;
- adapt, remix, and build upon the material for non-commercial purposes;
provided that:

3. Rights granted to the journal
By submitting and publishing in RJMU, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication and the right to identify itself as the original publisher of the work.
This means that the journal may publish, host, archive, index, distribute, and preserve the article as part of the official scholarly record, while the author continues to retain copyright.
4. Author reuse rights
Because authors retain copyright, they may:
- share the published article on personal websites, institutional websites, and academic networks;
- deposit the published version in institutional repositories and subject repositories;
- use the article in teaching, dissertations, theses, books, and future scholarly works;
- circulate the article for academic and research purposes;
provided that full citation to the original publication in RJMU is included.
5. Third-party material
If an article contains material for which the author does not own copyright, including figures, tables, images, questionnaires, or other copyrighted content, the author is responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions before publication.
Such third-party material remains subject to the copyright terms specified by its original rights holder. Where required, the copyright status and permission details must be clearly acknowledged in the article.
6. Commercial use
The CC BY-NC 4.0 license permits reuse for non-commercial purposes only. Any commercial use of RJMU-published content requires permission from the copyright holder unless such use is otherwise permitted by law.
7. Integrity of the scholarly record
Users who reuse or redistribute RJMU content must not misrepresent the original work, the authorship, or the publication source. Proper attribution must always be maintained, and any modifications, adaptations, or translations must be clearly identified.
8. Relationship to the open-access policy
These copyright terms operate together with the journal’s Open Access Policy and Licensing Terms. In the event of interpretation, the journal’s published article content remains open access and governed by the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
9. Website content
Unless otherwise stated, these terms apply to journal articles and published scholarly content only. Separate terms may apply to the journal website interface, branding, logos, and administrative pages.
10. Contact
Questions about copyright, licensing, or permissions may be directed to the journal through its official contact page and official journal email address.
